Through our established international worldwide search resources we are able to trace assets belonging to individuals or companies who are seeking to conceal them from third parties due to fraudulent activities, disputes, arbitration and/or litigation.
Asset tracing involves a forensic evaluation of all information and documentation available on the subject, albeit an individual or corporation. SIP have the experience and understanding of how complex offshore structures are used to conceal assets and how international financial systems and markets work.
SIP were involved in tracing assets as a result of a $600 million bank fraud and also identified assets in excess of £60 million in a high worth divorce settlement. These are just a few of the many successful cases SIP has dealt with in the past.
In many cases, assets are traced in one or more countries and can involve trust and other structures in offshore jurisdictions. At SIP we work within a legal team framework and recommend on ways interim relief which may be granted in one jurisdiction, such as freeing, search and/or seize orders, can be secured within another jurisdiction.
